Vision Statement
Stewarding land and relationships to add value for the next generation.
Our vision statement sets the framework for how we make decisions. We will take care of the land we operate by improving drainage, soil health and fertility to make the land more productive for future generations of agriculturalists. We treasure relationships with our landlords, suppliers, customers, and neighbors and will work to improve those relationships at every opportunity. We take a long-term approach to all of our decisions and will do the right thing for our children.
History
Mohler Family Farms began in 1977 near Thorntown, Indiana when Allen Mohler rented the first 240 acres from Donald McVey. The first crops were corn, soybeans, wheat, hay, and Red Poll beef cattle. Allen and his wife Jane worked through their way through the low prices and high-interest rates of the 1980s to create a very successful row crop operation. Allen grew the operation by cultivating relationships with his neighbors and working to add value to the land he operated. These values remain in the operation today, resulting in landlords continuing to lease the ground to MFF for multiple generations.
